Add Optima to Codex

Install the Optima plugin, connect your account, and recall conversations in Codex.

The Optima plugin adds the Optima MCP connection and a conversation-recall skill to Codex. You need Codex installed and access to the email address on your Optima account.

The silent walkthrough follows the steps below. Open the video.

Install and connect

  1. In your terminal, add the Optima marketplace:

    codex plugin marketplace add hero-not-found/plugins
  2. Start Codex with codex and enter /plugins.

  3. Switch to the Optima marketplace, select Optima, and choose Install.

  4. Follow the sign-in prompt to open your browser. Sign in to Optima with your six-digit email code, review the requested permissions, and approve the connection.

  5. Start a new task and ask:

Use Optima to summarize my conversations from today.

Codex should use Optima's tools and return a summary with recording times and turn references. If you have no transcripts for today, try a day when you recorded. A successful empty result means the connection works but no conversations match.

If you use Plum for Mac, you can also install from Optima Settings → Integrations → Codex. Complete the Codex connection prompts after installation; signing in to the Mac app does not sign the plugin in.

Manage the connection

If Optima is unavailable, check that the plugin is installed and enabled, complete any pending sign-in prompt, and start a new task. Reconnect if access has expired or been revoked. Avoid enabling a separate MCP connection to the same Optima account alongside the plugin.

Review or revoke access under Connected apps in your Optima account settings. For the endpoint, permissions, and more example questions, see MCP connection and tools. OpenAI's plugin guide covers the Codex plugin browser.
